Leo Geyr von Schweppenburg

Leo Dietrich Franz Freiherr Geyr von Schweppenburg (b. 2 March 1886 in Potsdam, d. 27 January 1974 in Ischenhausen near Munich) was a German general during World Wars I and II. He was particularly noted for his expertise in armoured warfare. He joined the German army in 1904. In the years 1933 to 1937 he was a military attaché to the United Kingdom, Belgium and the Netherlands, residing in London. From 1945 until 1947 he was in American captivity.
