The name Lenoir can be spelled three ways: Lenoir, LeNoir, or Lenore. The spelling "lenore" is used in one of Edgar Allan Poe's poems, and is mentioned in "The Raven". If spelt LeNoir it is pronounced "Lay-nwar", if Lenoir then "Len-or". It is French in origin and means "The Black".
