Lenin's Tomb is a left-wing UK blog covering world news and politics since June 2003, run primarily by Richard Seymour, who goes by the pseudonym "lenin", although it also often has front-page posts from a number of other contributors. Among its not so frequent bloggers is UK Science Fiction author China Miéville (sci-fi author Ken Macleod is an occasional visitor to the blog's comment boxes, along with children's author Michael Rosen). The politics of many of its commentators are those of the Socialist Workers Party. While not being limited to them, the blog has debated and commented mainly on topics related to the War on Terrorism, the anti-war movement, Islamophobia and the UK left. The blog is open in it's support of the Iraqi resistance and the Hizbollah Lebanese resistance during the 2006 Israeli invasion of Lebanon.[1]
The blog has recently interviewed former UK ambassador to Uzbekistan, Craig Murray. [1] In the past, it has published documents released by the former ambassador, which are said to support claims he made regarding UK government complicity with torture in Uzbekistan. The release of these documents broke the Official Secrets Act. [2] It also published claims supported by screenshots that Innovative Emergency Management was attempting to conceal its involvement in the disaster planning in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina.
