Len Arran

Len Arran (born Leonard Arran in Thornaby-on-Tees, England on 7th June 1961) is a composer for feature films, and songwriter for 90's rock band Skunk Anansie and solo artist Skin.

His early career began as a guitarist in London in the late 1980's but in 1991 a writing partnership with singer/songwriter Skin lead to the eventual formation of rock band Skunk Anansie.

From 1994 onwards this produced 8 top 40 Singles, including Hedonism(Just Because You Feel Good), Twisted, and Brazen (Weep), on 3 Gold/Platinum Albums; Paranoid and Sunburnt (1995), Stoosh (1997) and Post Orgasmic Chill (1999).

The huge European-wide hit 'Secretly' was used in the film Cruel Intentions (1999), along with tracks for Strangedays (1995), Mission Impossible (1998), The Avengers (1998), and other television credits in Europe and America.

2004 saw the release of songs for Skin's first Solo Album, Fleshwounds on EMI Records followed by her second solo album, Fake Chemical State (V2 Music) released in March 2006.

He has composed music for computer games including the Sony Entertainment PC game, Tellurian Defence. and scored music for several Irish Short Films, in addition to music for the highly commended 'Simon Community' TV Spots.

Films include the award winning A Dublin Story (2003), directed by Graham Cantwell, and Push Hands (2004), directed by Stephanie Green, the highly acclaimed 'Past Pupil' (2005) directed by Graham Cantwell and the latest feature from French Director, Chris Nahon, L'Empire des loups (2005).

Other works include the British romantic comedy The Truth About Love (UK-2006), the much anticipated second feature from Director Shimmy Marcus, 'Souled Out', and the feature debut from Audrey O'Reilly, 'It Takes Three To Tango'.

Len Arran lives in Dublin, Ireland and is currently working with the Irish singer Labhaoise Brennan on her debut album to be released in 2007.
