- Lemuel is a character in the Book of Mormon, the second eldest of Lehi's sons, and brother of Laman and Nephi.
- The valley of Lemuel, in the Book of Mormon is named after Lemuel, Lehi's son (1 Ne. 2:10, 14). Lehi and his family dwelt there for a time after leaving Jerusalem (1 Ne. 16:6), before resuming their journey to "the promised land".
- There is also a city of Lemuel mentioned in the Book of Mormon (Alma 23:12).
- Lemuel is a hebrew name, meaning "Devoted to God".
- In the Book of Proverbs, the last chapter, chapter 31, is attributed to King Lemuel.
