Lembaga Dakwah Islam Indonesia (Indonesia Institute of Islamic Dawah) or LDII, is an independent social organization for study and research on Alqur'an and Alhadist. Dakwah is Indonesian for religious proselytizing. LDII was founded in Surabaya, East Java, 1972, but has it roots in 1941. LDII now have branches throughout Indonesia. LDII is now the third largest organization in Indonesia with its member close to 15 million [citation needed] with highest member growth in Indonesia. LDII begin transforming itself become International institution by establishing cooperation with International organization.[citation needed]
