[edit] Licensing

Copyrighted

This image is of a movie poster, and the copyright for it is most likely owned by either the publisher of the movie or the studio which produced the movie in question. It is believed that the use of scaled-down, low-resolution images of movie posters

qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, may be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Fair use for more information.

To the uploader: please add a detailed fair use rationale for each use, as described on Wikipedia:Image description page, as well as the source of the work and copyright information.

[edit] Fair use for sound film

This image, LeMillionPoster.jpg, is being linked here; though the picture is subject to copyright I (DCGeist) feel it is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:

  1. it is a low resolution copy of a movie poster
  2. it does not limit the copyright owner's rights to sell the film or poster in any way;
  3. copies could not be used to make illegal copies of the artwork on another poster;
  4. the image is significant because it supports a discussion of this, one of the first important commercial sound films to experiment with the new medium.
