[edit] Local History

I added information on Leixlip Spa, Connollys Folly, Town Council and the Festival. Could someone provide info on Leixlip Castle and Desmond Guinness? As of yet they do not get a proper mention or their own article. Thanks! Duey Finster

[edit] Nightlife

  • Club G Located in the Glenroyal Hotel in nearby Maynooth, this club is a popular alternative to the Ozone.

Its' offically called Fizz - [1], plus its what's over the door! - though I have to admit that all of my friends do call it Club G. Having said that it belongs in the Maynooth article, so I've removed it from here.

[edit] Leixlipians

I am one, are you? 213.202.145.170 02:08, 20 August 2005 (UTC)

Yes.Dmitry

[edit] Access

Removed a massive amount of POV stuff in the Access section - the bus service to Leixlip is bad, but its not that bad. Very rarely has a bus been an hour late. And Dublin Bus list only their terminus departure times - there are no official departure times for Leixlip on the 66 route, in either direction. Plus the poster had no capital letters, and Megashopilis is NOT a word!!!!. --Rdd 20:37, 4 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] It's spelled "Borromeo"

Read above. And the school is San Carlo (italian), the spanish would be carlos. These are the reasons I edited these entries.

[edit] Fixed the coordinates

I have fixed the coordinates. Please stop changing them. The correct coordinates are 53.3636 N 6.4864 W. Test out these coordinates on Google maps and you can see Leixlip with Celbridge and Maynooth nearby (this should be the case as Google only has low-res images of Leixlip anyway).

The old coordinates led you to a satellite image and map from the Netherlands, the reason being that someone put in a minus sign before the western coordinate. However Wikipedia takes that to mean 6 westnegative (i.e. east) even though other programs use it differently. To do a western coordinate in Wiki the W value is positive.

The coordinates are for the official centre of the town (that is, where Capt's Hill and Main St. meet), not the exact centre overall.

nightlife, hotels etc. does not belong in an encyclopedia. i suggest this be moved .anyone agree. --Qwertyuiopasdfgh vfen 20:42, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

Maybe it would be better suited in Wikitravel, but as long as it's factual and non-POV I suppose it's alright.

[edit] Battle of Confey?

Where's that information about the Battle of Confey from? I also found a reference to Niall GlĂșndub, the High King of Ireland (and not the king of Leinster) fighting against the Vikings in 917, maybe that's the same battle? --AW 16:43, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
