The Leinster Senior Football Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Bank of Ireland Leinster Championship) is the premier "knockout" competition in the game of football played in the province of Leinster in Ireland. The series of games are organised by the Leinster Council and are played during the summer months. The Leinster football Final is played in July in Croke Park, Dublin. The winning county is presented with the Delaney Cup.
Dublin are the most successful, having won the championship on 46 occasions, more than double their nearest rivals Meath.
The Leinster Football Championship is run on a knock-out basis in which once a team loses they are eliminated from the competition. All of the counties of Leinster except Kilkenny, participate in the championship. The draw is a seeded draw in which last years semi finalist get a bye to the quarter finals.
