The Leicester Longhorns are a member of the British Collegiate American Football League (BCAFL)'s Northern Conference-Central Division. Leicester has fielded a BCAFL team since the league's second season in 1986-87. The Longhorns have had an up and down history in the BCAFL, highlighted by two trips to the College Bowl in 1994 and 2000 (losing both). However, Leicester has managed just 2 wins in its past four seasons.
From 1986-2002, the team was known as the Leicester Lemmings, and from 2002-2006 the team was known as the Leicester Lightning.
