Lehman Brothers, Kuhn, Loeb Inc.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb was formed in 1977 with the merger of Lehman Brothers and Kuhn, Loeb and Co. In 1984, the Firm was absorbed by the Shearson/American Express conglomerate, forming Shearson Lehman/American Express. The Firm merged with E.F. Hutton and changed names two more times before American Express realized that its experiment in creating the country's first financial services supermarket had failed and in 1994 the Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb portion of the combined entities were ultimately spun-off from American Express under the name Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc.
