Legion of the Unliving

The Legion of the Unliving is a name used by five fictional groups in the Marvel Comics universe. All were foes of the Avengers.

The first Legion was a band of superhumans gathered by Kang the Conqueror. All the beings he gathered were believed to be dead at the time, a tactic that he hoped would strike fear into the Avengers.

The second Legion were simulacra of various dead superhumans, created by the Grandmaster.

The third Legion were simulacra of various dead superhumans, created by Immortus.

The fourth Legion were zombies created by Grim Reaper (mystically boosted by Lloigoroth) from the corpses of the victims of a plane crash. Into these zombies he placed the souls of several dead Avengers foes.

The fifth Legion were the undead spirits of several former Avengers, summoned and controlled by the Grim Reaper.
