- Yes, but such repetitions of the same information in multiple languages are very common historically and Tolkien was seemingly fond of them... for instance, "Bree-hill" is based on the English village of Brill, which comes from Bre-hyll (where 'bre' is welsh for 'hill' and 'hyll' is old english for...
