In electronics, a lead is an electrical connection, usually a wire, coming from an electronic device and often connecting to another. Leads are used to transfer power, to probe circuits (see multimeter), and to transmit information.

In electronics, the difference in time between two waveforms of the same frequency. One waveform is said to lead another if it precedes it.
