Lead(II) hydroxide
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Lead(II) hydroxide, Pb(OH)2, is a hydroxide of lead, with lead in oxidation state +2.
Lead(II) hydroxide is a somewhat weak base, being changed to lead(II) ion, Pb2+, in weakly acid conditions. There is also a 'plumbite' ion, Pb(OH)3-, is very basic conditions.
Lead(II) hydroxide can be oxidized to plumbic acid, but lead is not so commonly found in oxidation state +4.
