Le Trio de l'étrange (The Trio of the Bizarre) is the first book from Yoko Tsuno comic book series written by Roger Leloup and published in 1972. (ISBN 2-8001-0666-2)

[edit] Story

While trying to trace the course of an underground river, Yoko, Vic and Pol find themselves swept into the subterranean realm of a highly advanced, blue-skinned race, the Vineans. They meet Khany and her sister Poky, who tell them of their people's origins in the M33 galaxy.

On the road to the central command centre, the trio soon stumbles across a sinister force: the Vinean central supercomputer, which has become sentient. With the help of the Vinean chief of security, Karpan, the machine subtly controls the Vineans - and threatens to do the same to the trio. Yoko resists the computer's intent to dominate her, but Karpan remains another threat. Meanwhile, the Vineans also intend to keep the secret of their existence from the surface-dwelling humans, prompting less-than-friendly reactions towards the trio.
