Le Puiset is a small commune of the Eure-et-Loir département of France. Its postal code is 28310.

As of 1999 it had a population of 371, and 174 households, 29.9% of which are two-person households. There are 191 homes, 98.6% of which are individual houses. The largest age group is 20-39 year olds, who make up 27% of the population; 49.9% of the total population is male and 50.1% is female. The commune covers 7.91 square kilometres. 176 people are employed, and the average income is € 21 810. 42.9% of households have two or more cars, far more than the national average of 30.3%. 22.4% of the population are students.

[edit] Medieval lordship

In the Middle Ages it was the site of a lordship within the County of Blois and Chartres. The lords descended from the counts of Breteuil, and often also held the position of viscount of Chartres. They participated in the Norman Conquest and the crusades of the 12th century, and were cousins of the dynasty of the Kings of Jerusalem.
