Le Coq Sportif

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Le Coq Sportif. (translated in English as The Sporting Rooster (or Cock) is a French company producing sports equipment such as shoes and T-shirts. It was founded in 1948 by Emile Camuset [1], although Camuset had been designing for many years prior. [2]

The company has sponsorship deals with many football (soccer) clubs, including Olympique Marseille, AJ Auxerre, Sheffield United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Queens Park Rangers and Hibernian.

The company's name derives from the Gallic rooster, a national symbol of France.
