Le Center is a city in Le Sueur County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 2,240 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Le Sueur County6.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.9 km² (1.5 mi²), all land.

As of the census2 of 2000, there were 2,240 people, 838 households, and 563 families residing in the city. The population density was 580.4/km² (1,507.2/mi²). There were 877 housing units at an average density of 227.3/km² (590.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 93.75% White, 0.13% Native American, 0.09% Asian, 0.22% Pacific Islander, 5.49% from other races, and 0.31% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 9.91% of the population.

There were 838 households out of which 36.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.0% were married couples living together, 10.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.8% were non-families. 27.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.57 and the average family size was 3.16.

In the city the population was spread out with 27.6% under the age of 18, 10.2% from 18 to 24, 28.8% from 25 to 44, 15.9% from 45 to 64, and 17.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 89.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 86.2 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $38,690, and the median income for a family was $47,143. Males had a median income of $30,901 versus $22,381 for females. The per capita income for the city was $17,225. About 6.6% of families and 7.6% of the population were below the poverty line, including 4.3% of those under age 18 and 17.3% of those age 65 or over.
