The name Lazarus can refer to a number of people and things. It is most commonly known as the name of a man Jesus raises from the dead in the New Testament. Consequently, most uses of the name, real or fictional, refer to someone with an extremely long lifespan or to a tool that can prolonge life or revive the dead.

- In paleontology, a Lazarus taxon is a taxon that disappears from one or more periods of the fossil record, only to appear again later, thus giving the impression of life coming back from the dead.

The name "Lazarus" is popular in fiction to name anything relating to reviving the dead or prolonging human life. A number of fictional devices that accomplish these goals, of immortal characters, and of shows discussing eternal life, share the name "Lazarus".
- Cold Lazarus, a television play written by Dennis Potter about scientists who extract the memories of a long-dead man.
- "Cold Lazarus" (Stargate SG-1), a Stargate SG-1 episode where a main character's dead relative seemingly returns to life
