Laurent Bartholdi

Laurent Bartholdi (born August 28, 1973, Geneva) is a Swiss mathematician. He is as of 2006 Assistant Professor at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne. He completed his PhD entitled 'Growth of groups acting on trees' in 2000 under the supervision of Pierre de la Harpe, and from 2001 to 2003 was a Charles B. Morrey Assistant Professor at University of California, Berkeley.

He has generalized the Ihara zeta function of a graph to a 2-variable zeta function, sometimes referred to as the Bartholdi zeta function (see external links below).

He is not directly related to sculptor Frederic Auguste Bartholdi.
