[edit] Adelaide career

Angwin arrived at the Adelaide Crows as a promising young ruckman, at 200cm tall he was earmarked by draft scouts such as Kevin Sheehan as a future star. He spent two seasons on the Adelaide list and was delisted due to his lack of dedication to football. He was given a second chance, picked up by Carlton at the end of 2002.

[edit] Carlton career

Angwin made his debut in 2003 and played 4 games. In October of 2003, Angwin faced eight burglary and theft charges.

[edit] Drugs controversy

He was retained on the rookie list for the 2004 season due to his potential as a player, however his off-field behaviour was still an issue. Near the beginning of the 2004 season, Angwin and his Carlton teammate Karl Norman arrived at training under the influence of cocaine. This was the final straw for Angwin, who had been considered a bad influence to other teammates. Karl Norman earned a reprieve and was retained on the list.

[edit] Moonee Valley Magpies career

It appeared that the young Angwin had thrown away a promising career in the AFL due to his lack of focus. The drugs controversy received huge media coverage and put shame to Angwin's name. However, soon after he was sacked in early 2004, he was picked up by the Moonee Valley Magpies, a club in the Essendon District Football League. Led by former VFL/AFL star Simon Minton-Connell, Angwin was a star recruit who could improve his reputation and redeem himself, but soon after he was recruited he failed to show up to regular training and was again sacked from his club.

[edit] Today

The Carlton Football Club were so ashamed of Angwin's behaviour that their official website CarltonFC.com.au removed Angwin's profile from their "Past Players" section, choosing to ignore Angwin's involvement in the club's history.
