Lauren Bessette

Lauren Gail Bessette (November 5, 1964 – July 16, 1999) was a daughter of William J. Bessette and his wife, née Ann Messina. She died at age 34 along with her sister Carolyn Bessette and her sister's husband, John F. Kennedy, Jr., when an aircraft he was piloting crashed into the sea near Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts. Their ashes were buried at sea on July 22, 1999.
Lauren Bessette was born in White Plains, Westchester County, New York, with a twin sister, Lisa Ann. She attended Hobart and William Smith Colleges in New York with economics as a major. Later, she received her Master of Business Administration degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She worked as a senior investment banker specializing in Asian financial markets at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter in Manhattan for nearly six years prior to her death.
