Laura Simonds Southworth is a book illustrator. Her books include Naturalist. (1995).

She also is an excellent mother of two young women and makes her home in Sonoma County, California with her husband Mike of 31 years. She currently has moved on to developing art programs for science textbooks. She loves her dogs and the sunflowers in her garden.
