[edit] History
Lash Out arose from the remains of former hardcore bands based in the scene in and around the city of Molde, Norway. The former four-piece, by now five-piece band, got together in the last months of 1992 and recorded their first demotape in early 1993. This recording gave them a deal with the German label Stormstrike Records. Since then the band have released a 12" mini-LP entitled "The Darkest Hour" (November 1993) and donated a track for a split 7" with labelmates Contention (January 1994). Both releases sold very well and have been given solid reviews world-wide, describing the band as an output playing moshy, metallic hardcore.
In the summer of 1994 Lash Out recorded six new songs. Five of them appear on the "Worn Path" 12" / MCD and represent Lash Out as a more mature band dedicated to an even moshier, heavier and more manic sound. The remaining track of the 1994 recordings appear on a compilation of European hardcore bands on Conquer The World Records in the US.
Fall 1994 saw the emerging band thread the worn path on an European tour spanning more than twenty dates in Denmark, Germany, The Czech Republic, Switzerland, Belgium, England and Norway. They have since played more than 20 shows in Norway and in November 1995 Lash Out did an 8 dates tour of Sweden. Christmas '95 Lash Out headlined the annual M.A.D. X-MAS Festival tour, 10 dates in Germany along with 4 German bands. Lash Out has proved themselves to be a live-band of immense proportions - their moshy sound really get the crowd moving.
