Larry Hubich is the president of the Saskatchewan Federation of Labour (SFL). He was elected as SFL President on July 3, 2002, re-elected in November 2002 and again in October 2004. First elected to the SFL Executive Council in 1990 as a Vice-President, Hubich served as the SFL’s Treasurer from 1994 until election to the position of President in 2002.

A long time trade unionist and social activist Larry was a staff representative with Grain Services Union (GSU) for 20 years (1982 – 2002). Prior to this he was a rank and file member of GSU from 1973 – 1982 while he was employed in the Information Technology Division at Saskatchewan Wheat Pool.

Larry grew up in small town Saskatchewan (Strasbourg & Leader), graduated from High School in Leader, Sask. in 1972 and since that time has continued in his educational pursuits. A life-long learner, he has attended post-secondary institutions including the Saskatchewan Technical Institute (STI – Moose Jaw) and the University of Regina.

Larry has extensive experience and a strong background in Labour Education. He has co-instructed classes in Labour Law recognized and accredited by the University of Saskatchewan and the Labour College of Canada.

An experienced negotiator and advocate for working people, Larry has experience in the areas of labour arbitration, collective bargaining, organizing, education, communication, finance and information technology. He represents Saskatchewan workers on both the provincial and national scene by participating with many unions and numerous organizations at all levels.
