The Laredo Broncos are an independent minor league baseball team in Laredo, Texas. The team is one of six charter members of United League Baseball, which began play in the 2006 season. In their first season, after a disappointing 5-15 start, the Broncos earned respect by having a winning record down the stretch and winning 11 of their last 16 games, making a trip to the playoffs where they pushed the first place Edinburg Coyotes to their limit before being eliminated. The Broncos play at Veterans Field, which seats 3,200.

[edit] Winter League Broncos

Laredo also fields a wintertime version of the Laredo Broncos, which will begin play mid-January of 2007. It is one of four teams in the United League Baseball Winter League, the only league of its kind in the continental United States, which plays a 24-game schedule from mid-January through mid-February of each year. All games will be played at Harlingen Field. Each team will have a 25-player roster, and the teams will play doubleheaders each day with 4 days off during the regular season. Other teams playing will include Brownsville, the Edinburg Coyotes and Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings. This league operates as a winter counterpart to the regular United League with its own identity, teams, standings and statistics.
