In many campaign settings for the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game, Laogzed is the deity worshipped by the troglodyte race. James M. Ward created Laogzed for the Deities and Demigods Cyclopedia (1980).
This disgusting, vile being resembles both a toad and a lizard. Laogzed's skin is covered with loose patches of dead flesh, and his skin oozes an acidic poison.
Laogzed makes its home on the Rotting Plane, which is the 181st layer of the Abyss.
Lagozed's priests wear topaz-colored vestments and bone belts. His sacred animal is the toad. His holy day is midwinter's day and he is worshipped in natural caverns. Burnt human corpses are offered to him as sacrifices annually.
