Lantzville, British Columbia

Lantzville is a coastal community on the east side of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada along the western shore of Strait of Georgia and immediately north of the City of Nanaimo, British Columbia.
The District of Lantzville was incorporated on June 25th, 2003. It covers an area of 29.87 square kilometres. In the 2001 census, Lantzville's population was recorded at 3,538. The district is almost completely residential, with some commercial buildings on the main drag, Lantzville Rd (formerly part of the Island Hwy).
Lantzville was originally a mining town and is named after its American founder, Arthur Lantz. The mayor of Lantzville is Colin Haime. In addition, there is a public elementary school, Seaview Elementary, and two Anglican churches. Also, there is an Indian Reserve, on the north side of the village. Amenities in the village include a jeweller, a book publisher, a travel agency, a dentist, doctor's offices, pharmacy, corner store, etc. Lantzville is also known for the Lantzville Pub.
