Lansing Symphony Orchestra

The Lansing Symphony Orchestra (LSO) is an American symphony orchestra headquartered in East Lansing, Michigan. It was founded in 1929 under the leadership of its first music director, Izler Solomon. Since 2006 the orchestra has been headed by music director Timothy Muffitt.
As of 2006, the LSO performs 17 concerts a year from its home at the Wharton Center for Performing Arts on the campus of Michigan State University. It also performs "Big Band" concerts at Dart Auditorium on the campus of Lansing Community College in downtown Lansing, Michigan. The LSO has established relationships with the Plymouth Congregational Church in Lansing, Michigan, the venue for the LSO Chamber Society Series, and with Lansing-area radio station WKAR-FM, its broadcaster.
