From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Langenscheidt is a privately-held German publishing company, specializing in language resource literature. As well as producing same-language dictionaries, Langenscheidt also produces language-to-language dictionaries and travel phrase-books. The use of blue headwords greatly enhances the ease of word-finding.
The Langenscheidt Publishing Group is also a major map publisher in the United States, encompassing former privately-held regional map publishers Arrow (Boston area), Hagstrom (New York area), Patton (Philadelphia area), ADC (Washington DC area), Creative Sales (CSC) (Chicago area), and Trakker (Florida). They also have national and international coverage with Hammond Map and American Map Company, which absorbed the assets of General Drafting in 1992.
