Langara College is located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and has more than 23,000 students (full-time and part-time). Programs were first offered in 1965 at King Edward Centre as part of Vancouver City College (current name is Vancouver Community College). The current site at 100 West 49th Avenue has housed the programs since 1970. The college was established as an independent public college on April 1, 1994. It takes its name from Juan de Lángara.

The school provides University Transfer, Career, and Continuing Studies programs. Many transfer students go on to attain degrees at University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University and the University of Victoria. It also has a small graduate program.

Studio 58, Langara's Theatre Arts program, ranked with in the Top 5 theatre schools in Canada (2006). The school auditions hundreds of people across Canada but only 16 students are accepted per semester. The school has around 72 students for both its three year acting program, and two year production program.

Athletics, Langara's intercollegiate athletic program is one of the top college athletic programs in Canada. Langara is a member of the British Columbia Colleges' Athletic Association (BCCAA) and the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA). In 1999, Langara College was the runner-up for the Overall CCAA Sport Supremacy Award for their athletic achievements between the years of 1974 and 1999.[1]

The Langara's Students' Union (LSU) is an independent student union, not a member union of the Canadian Federation of Students. The offices of the LSU are housed in the Langara's Students' Union Building.

There are two campus newspapers at Langara College:
- The Voice, a newspaper published by Langara's journalism career program,
- The Gleaner, an independent newspaper whose offices are housed in Langara's Students' Union Building.
