LANDesk Software, Inc. provides systems management, security management, and process management solutions to organizations across a spectrum of industries and services. LANDesk® solutions are designed to simplify Information Technology (IT) management of desktops, servers, mobile devices, and business processes from a single, integrated console.

Originally founded in 1985 as LAN Systems, the company’s software product assets were acquired by Intel in 1991, forming Intel’s LANDesk division. In 2002, LANDesk Software became a standalone company with headquarters near Salt Lake City, Utah. LANDesk is considered by many to be the first vendor to integrate systems and security management solutions, installed today on tens of millions of nodes worldwide.

Specifically concerning products, LANDesk® Management Suite was created to automate systems management tasks and help organizations protect their IT infrastructures against spyware / malware and other security threats, install and maintain software on the desktop, and decrease software licensing costs and respond to audits.

LANDesk® Security Suite is designed to help organizations’ IT departments improve systems, network, and endpoint device security with active patch, spyware, and vulnerability assessment and remediation tools.

The purpose of LANDesk® Process Manager is to enable organizations to design, model, document, automate, and optimize workflows and business processes. This solution aligns with the LANDesk IT Service Management (ITSM) business strategy. The change-management capabilities of the product are intended to allow organizations to incorporate ITIL discipline and best practices across their enterprise.
