Lamit Company has been established as one of the largest independent satellite operator companies in Europe, being self-maintained and self-operated through a large worldwide network of distributors and partners.
Through the company's solutions, satellite internet and telephony have been provided to numerous primary schools and highschools throughout Romania, places where there wasn't any type of communication before. Children can now have access to mail, browsing or communication with students from other countries. Teachers can provide their classes with better information.
The company has also helped numerous companies to extend their activities over their countries' borders and establish new branches and footholds abroad, through satellite equipment, services, and secured VPNs.
Beside satellite internet access services for business, the company implements IP acceleration solutions through hardware optimizations, having over 10 expert engineers on breakthrough research projects.
As of September, 2005, the company had the following number of clients :
- 1200 Business Companies (out of which ~ 300 in Romania)
- 45 ISPs
- 400 private users
- 86 cyber cafes
