[edit] Business partnerships

Lakeshore has a partnership with Cisco systems in the Cisco Systems Canada Networking Academy.[2] "Part of the Networking Academy content focuses on teaching students how to design, build and maintain computer networks through two certification driven programs (Cisco Certified Networking Associate CCNA, and the Cisco Certified Networking Professional CCNP)."[3] Students acquire IT industry skills such as (IT Essentials I & II, Panduit Network Infrastructure Essentials, Fundamentals of UNIX, and Fundamentals of Java Programming) that will all link to Industry recognized certifications (A+, Server+, Linux+, Sun Certified Java Programmer, and Panduit Authorized Installer). Globally the Cisco Systems Canada Networking Academy has more than 10,000 Academies in over 150 countries and with more than 1.5 million students enrolled.

[edit] Dress and deportment

Students at the school are required to wear uniforms[4], which should conform to school-defined guidelines, including style and colour. Infractions result in disciplinary action. The school also holds Alternate Dress Days, typically the first Monday of each month, during which students may dress in any attire, so long as it is deemed appropriate by school administrators.

Competing in a different division than neighbouring school Port High due to the fact that Port High has half the student population of Lakeshore, and simply cannot compete at a higher level.

Lakeshore has a football program which in 2004 was number one top-ranked Canadian high school football team by nflcflfutures.com.[5] The current (April 2006) teaching staff and coaches of this team are Brad Johnstone, Rocky Dipietro, and Peter Burnett.[6]

The school also offers a variety of other sports programs for students.
