Lake Zürich High School, or LZHS, is a public four-year high school located in Lake Zürich, Illinois, a northwest suburb of Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. It is part of Community Unit School District 95.

Lake Zürich High school first opened its doors to students in 1929, as Ela-Vernon High School, serving Ela and Vernon Townships in Lake County, Illinois. In 1964, Stevenson High School opened in nearby Lincolnshire drawing students from the eastern half of Ela Township and all of Vernon Township.

In 2005, Lake Zürich had an average composite ACT score of 22.5, and graduated 97.9% of its senior class. The average class size is 19.8. Lake Zürich has made Adequate Yearly Progress on the Prairie State Achievements Examination, a state test part of the No Child Left Behind Act.[1]

Lake Zurich competes in the North Suburban Conference and Illinois High School Association. Its mascot is the Bear. In 2005 the school installed artificial turf for its stadium at a cost of some $625,000.

The Lake Zurich Bears have a tradition in athletics. The school in 2005 moved from the Fox Valley Conference to the North Suburban Conference for athletics. Congratulations to the 2006 Lake Zürich Bears Football Team on the greatest football season that Lake Zurich High School has ever seen.

The Lake Zurich High School (LZHS) Jazz Ensemble has been named a national finalist in the prestigious Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Band Competition & Festival May 18-20 at the Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City, NY. The group was the only Jazz band selected from the state of Illinois, and is one of only 15 bands selected as a finalist for the national competition.
