Lake Mashu

Lake Mashu (摩周湖 Mashū-ko?) is a landlocked endorheic lake formed in the caldera of a dormant volcano. It is located in Akan National Park on the island of Hokkaido, Japan. Mashu is famous for the clarity of its water, and the fog that envelops its surface.
Mashu is located at 43.58N, 144.53E. Its elevation is 1,152 feet (351 m).
