Lake Kanas

Lake Kanas lies near the Altai mountains, in Xinjiang, China. China's deepest freshwater lake (the deepest area of this lake being about 184 metres). Known as: God's palette About 117 different kinds of birds make their home along this lake. Area: 44.78 square kilometers; 1,340 meters above sea level.

The Tuva peoples make their home near the Lake.
