Lainate is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Milan in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 15 km northwest of Milan. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 24,146 and an area of 12.9 km2.[1]
The municipality of Lainate contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Barbaiana, Grancia, and Pagliera.
Lainate borders the following municipalities: Caronno Pertusella, Origgio, Garbagnate Milanese, Nerviano, Arese, Rho, Pogliano Milanese.
