Vicki was born April 21, 1984. She chose the AOL screen name "lady1raven" in 1999, and has since used that screen name with several other services, including LiveJournal, Geocities and Wikipedia. She went by the name Raven for many years, but when her best friend Heather introduced her as Vicki to the players of the City of Demons roleplay, she dropped the psuedonym. She does not, however, give out her full name online, and when asked will typically reply that her full name is "Debra Ann Emerson. Or it would be if I weren't lying."

Vicki was born in Poway, California. Her parents divorced when she was three, and they arranged joint custody. She spent weekdays with her mother in San Diego, weekends with her father in Poway, and alternated holidays. Though by California law she could control her custody arrangements at the age of 16, she still keeps this arrangement at age 20.

At age eleven, Vicki was daignosed with depression, and later with social phobia and agoraphobia. She has been treated for these since then, seeing several psychologists and psychiatrists, and taking several kinds of medication. She left normal school in eigth grade, and examed out of high school at age sixteen with the California High School Proficiency Exam. At age nineteen she went on Social Security disability.

Vicki considers herself a decent editor, and her main reason for joining Wikipedia is that she hopes to rewrite articles to make them easier to read, and to correct any errors she finds.
