Lady Alice Boyle

The Lady Alice Boyle, later Alice Barry, Countess of Barrymore, later The Lady Alice Barry (March 20, 1607- June 23, 1667) was the eldest daughter and second child of Richard Boyle, 1st Earl of Cork and his second wife Catherine Fenton.

She was born in the College, Youghal, County Cork, Ireland. On July 21, 1631 she married David Barry, 1st Earl of Barrymore when she was 24 and he was 26.

She had two children from that marriage:

  • Ellen Barry, born in 1631 Castlelyons, County Cork, Ireland, (Buried in Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland)
  • Catherine Barry, born in 1632 Castlelyons, County Cork, Ireland

Lord Barrymore died on September 29, 1642 after 11 years of marriage and is buried in Youghal.

About two years after Lord Barrymore's death, Lady Barrymore married again. Her second husband was John Barry, the younger brother of her first husband.

Lady Alice had no children by this second marriage. She is buried in Youghal, County Cork, Ireland.
