Lacsa (Lineas Aereas Costarricenses SA) is the national airline of Costa Rica and is based in San José. It operates international scheduled services [1]. It is one of the Grupo TACA airlines and now is operated in TACA livery. It is known as Grupo Taca Lacsa. [citation needed]

The airline was established on 17 October 1945 by Pan American World Airways, the Costa Rican government and Costa Rican private interests. It started operations on 1 June 1946 and was designated the national carrier in 1949. Its domestic network was transferred to subsidiary Sansa in September 1959 [1].

As of January 2005 Lacsa operated services to the following international scheduled destinations [1] : Bogotá, Buenos Aires, Caracas, Chicago, Guatemala City, Guayaquil, Havana, Lima, Los Angeles, Managua, Mexico City, Miami, New York, Panama City, Quito, San Salvador and Toronto.
