La det swinge is a song in Norwegian. The Norwegian pop duo Bobbysocks, consisting Elisabeth Andreassen and Hanne Krogh sang it, and won the Eurovision Song Contest 1985 for Norway. The song is particularly well-known by Norwegian fans, as it represented their country's first ever Contest victory (Norway holds the unwanted distinction of having finished last most often). It is also generally considered one of the stronger songs to have won the Contest.
Performed in Norwegian, the song is a tribute to dancing to old music heard on the radio. Befitting the subject matter, the song itself is written in a more old-fashioned manner than other Eurovision entries of the same time, with a memorable saxophone melody setting the chorus off.
The song was succeeded as winner in 1986 by J'aime La Vie, performed for Belgium by Sandra Kim.
