"La Pared" (in English: The wall) is a song written, produced and performed by Colombian-born musician Shakira. It is found on her 2005 album Fijación Oral Vol. 1. The song has been compared to the work of Depeche Mode and Coldplay. [citation needed]
This song is the fourth single of Fijación Oral Vol. 1, and its music video was shot in Mexico during two consecutive concerts of the singer's Oral Fixation Tour. Jaume de Laiguana directed the video and Shakira co-directed.

"La Pared" has also an acoustic version, in which the only instrument used is a piano. This version is also included in the album Fijación Oral Vol. 1 as a bonus track. This version was the one that Shakira performed at the 2006 Latin Grammy Awards and the one she perfoms on her Oral Fixation Tour 2006, therefore the acoustic version is the one played on the music video.

The video for the acoustic version of La Pared, shows a live performance of the song accompanied only by a piano on the concerts offered by Shakira on "Elpalacio de los Deportes" at Mexico City,Mexico and was codirected by Shakira and catalan director Jaume Delaiguana.
