La Nuit Bengali

La Nuit Bengali is primarily an autobiographical novel written by Mircea Eliade. The meaning of "La Nuit Bengali" is "The Bengali Night".
It is a real love story from the 1930's. The guy is Mercia himself and his girl is from a traditional Hindu family, Maitreyi Devi. Later she became a famous poet of India. However, their love was not successful as they were separated.
La Nuit Bengali is also a movie, based on the book of Mercia Eliade. The leading actor is Hugh Grant and the leading actress is Supriya Pathak from India. It was released in 1988.
