La Luz are a football club from Montevideo in Uruguay. They currently play in the Uruguayan 2nd Division.

Faustino Fernández's bar located in the village "Aires Puros" was one of the few business that had electricity by 1929, in that zone. A group of "football lovers" boys were always at the bar. Among the, there were Luis Rivero, Luis Enrico, and José Ruecco. By April of 1929, they founded La Luz Fútbol Club, they adpoted white jerseys, at first. Why La Luz? La Luz meaning the "Light" of that bar were the used to hang out and dreamed about having their own club.
