La Gombe or Gombe (formerly Kalina, after the lieutenant, E. Kallina), is a district in the north of the province of Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is bounded on the north by the Congo River and in the south by Boulevard du 30 Juin. La Gombe is a residential area and also houses some of the principal governing bodies of the DR Congo, including the Palais de la Nation, which houses the country's presidency, and the Banque Centrale du Congo on Boulevard Colonel Tshatshi. La Gombe houses various ministries and diplomatic and media organizations, and constitutes Kinshasa's business district. The offices of Kinshasa's governor are also located in La Gombe, making it the "capital" of the Province of Kinshasa.
