La Ceiba, Atlántida
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
La Ceiba is a municipality in the Honduran department of Atlántida. It lies on the north coast of Honduras. The country's largest port, it is the home of the American owned-Standard Fruit Company, which grows, purchases, and exports bananas. The influence of this company on the politics and economics of the city has been dwindling since its heyday in the 1950s. La Ceiba's annual celebration of the feast day of its patron saint, San Isidro, draws visitors from all over the country. See La Ceiba.See La Ceiba.
