Laïka is a Greek music-culture. The word "Laika" means "popular, folkish" in Greek.

"Modern Laika" is traditional Greek music mixed in with modern music and other genres such as rock and dance. One of the first artists' in Greece to pioneer this was Anna Vissi. She inroduced rock in the early 1990's and dance in the early 2000's.

Laika is similar to the Serbian Turbo-folk, they have the same sort of Etno-Ambient Underground Dance-melodies, but the Laika differs from turbo-folk, since Laika has Rebetika as its "father".
Not to be confused with Laïkó, another greek music-style.
