L.A. Without a Map

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

L.A. Without an Map is a 1998 film directed by Mika Kaurismäki, and being a France, UK, Finland production.

Written by Mika Kaurismäki and Richard Rayner based on his novel.

This film is somewhat a rare oddity, and did not feature in many film festivals until the early 2000s. The cast includes many actors who are now more widely known in film than when this film was current.

This film features; David Tennant, Vinessa Shaw, Julie Delpy, Vincent Gallo, Johnny Depp(as himself/dreamself/Dead Man poster self), Amanda Plummer, and Anouk Aimée as herself, and the Leningrad Cowboys. Robert Davi also appears as him-self, which with many other cameos by actors playing their actual selves is part of the film's "foreigner in Hollywood scene" scenes.
